I haven’t written in a while

Posted on April 20, 2023April 20, 2023 by Midlife Mad

It’s been a long time since I wrote a post, blog or anything for my site.

I was just sitting here this evening and thinking why haven’t I done it!? And the simple answer is that for whatever reason my mind has been moving at a million miles an hour and I just haven’t known what to write, how to promote it and how to actually get something from what I am doing.

My thinking then lead to realise that doing a little writing is actually as much of therapy as it is trying to work out how to get whatever else it may be I want to get and develop from my site down the road.

So, what’s been happening!?

Well, I have engaged with a therapist, I decided on this as a way to explore why I feel like I do sometimes and help me to deal with past issues that I never truly dealt with. First call done and awaiting then next steps which for someone who gets anxious about if they shut a door properly is a big thing. It will get there and then I can truly move forwards.

I’ve continued my healthy goals. gym, exercise at home, walks with the family and looking at how diet can be adjusted to help me. Still work to do and it’s a long road but I know that overtime it will only benefit.

and work, I’ve made a decision that I cannot stay where I currently work. Nice people, nice pay and reasonable boss. But, the industry is not for me and long term I know it will not work as it is just not the right fit. I’ve been applying and had a couple of interlocked so we will see what comes of those and all being well progress and a new challenge in a field I am massively experienced in will come!

my head and my heart both tell me I am doing the right thing and wanting to do what is best for my family is paramount and by getting happier and having more availability all the time for them, then it has to be right.

my anxiety creeps up everyday, I am learning to understand it and will overtime. When you have always thought “it won’t happen to me” “I won’t feel like that” and then it does, it is hard to accept and you realise why it was hard to understand when you saw others experience it. Nobody except the person dealing with something knows how they feel and nobody knows why for a very long time. Slow steps but everyday I want to learn about myself and truly get forwards. I have accepted it will probably always be there, so I just need to understand why, what triggers me and how I can build coping mechanisms into my daily life so that I move forwards with out the fear of it taking hold!

I don’t know what else I want to say right now but I do know I want to find some good topics to write about. And I would like to speak to others about how they cope with different things and learn from them. Only one way forwards and can’t keep looking backwards!
